Massage Cancellation Policy

Massage Cancellation Policy at Plainfield Spine & Rehabilitation

At Plainfield Spine & Rehabilitation, we have a strict Massage Cancellation Policy to ensure the smooth operation of our clinic and the fair treatment of our massage therapists. Please take note of the following policy:

  1. Cancellation Fees: A $10 cancellation fee will be charged for any missed massage appointment without a 24-hour notice. Last-minute or no-show cancellations will incur a $20 cancellation fee.
  2. Applicability: This policy applies exclusively to scheduled massages and does not include routine chiropractic visits.
  3. Reasoning: We have implemented this policy for several reasons:
    1. The cancellation fees go directly to the massage therapist, not the clinic, ensuring they are compensated for their time.
    2. Our massage therapists are paid per massage and rely on consistent bookings for income. Cancellations result in lost earnings for them.
    3. By enforcing cancellation fees, we prevent turnover among our therapists, who may become dissatisfied with multiple cancellations.
  4. Communication: The cancellation policy is communicated to clients when scheduling their first massage. It is also prominently displayed at our front desk, as well as on our website. We intend to ensure transparency and avoid surprises.
  5. Responsibility and Risk: When scheduling a massage, there is an assumed responsibility and risk. If you fail to show up for a scheduled appointment, a small fee is charged to supplement the income of the massage therapist for the missed session. We do not automatically schedule massages, so it is essential to remember your appointment time.
  6. Industry Standard: Cancellation and late fee policies are shared across various industries, including libraries, credit cards, dentists, utility bills, hotels, airlines, reservations, car rentals, and hair stylists. Our cancellation fees are incredibly reasonable compared to those of our competitors.
  7. Demand and Availability: Our massage therapist is highly sought-after, often with a waiting list of 2-3 weeks. Rescheduling a massage with a 24-hour notice is possible, but with proper notice, it becomes easier. Therefore, adhering to the cancellation policy is crucial.
  8. Policy Consistency: Our cancellation policy is straightforward and applies universally. A 24-hour notice means precisely 24 hours, and the policy encompasses all reasons for cancellation, including legitimate excuses. It allows us to maintain cost-effective prices by avoiding lengthy discussions about fee disagreements.
  9. Value and Awareness: The cancellation policy highlights the value of our massage therapists’ time and discourages repeat offenses. It also encourages patients to reschedule or adjust their appointments sooner to avoid a small fee. Without this policy, we would be unable to provide massage therapy services.

We firmly stand by our Massage Cancellation Policy and will not alter it for anyone. By paying the cancellation fee, you demonstrate your respect for the therapist’s time and contribute to their income. Failure to pay the fee will result in the inability to reschedule until it is delivered.

Thank you for understanding and supporting our policy at Plainfield Spine & Rehabilitation.
